JP Luijsterberg, chief editor at Phanta Vision made a lot of prizewinning documentaries for VPRO television. How do you tell a logical story? Why is it that editing starts way before you enter the editing room? And what is the power of sound and image? Learn now the 5 golden rules of editing.
In Europe Schools presents you 5 education programmes based on the documentary series ‘In Europe’, produced by VPRO and Euroclio. A one of kind European exchange project in which students film their recent history, and research and compare themes like democracy, human rights, privacy, difficult histories, climate change and migration.
In a decade where pupils use all kinds of (social)media it is time to let them film their own recent history and to provide you teachers in history and social studies with an interactive education kit in line with the television series which will contribute to forming opinions, citizenship and media literacy.
The lessons contain a clear education programme, tailored excerpts from the series and tutorials to facilitate teachers and students in making a short documentary.
The lessons are meant for grades 3 to 5 of senior secondary education (HAVO) and pre university education (VWO). A special option will be prepared for grades 3 and 4 of prevocational secondary education (VMBOT-MAVO)
Schools from all over Europe will take part in this project and work on the same themes. All their short documentaries will be gathered in a VPRO playlist.
